ABOUT US
A 24 Hour Coffee House established in the year 2000 at the turn of the millennium, after the last Ice Age and before the next Great Extinction, the bitter end has been hand crafting espresso beverages since before you knew what this stuff was.
CRAFT ROASTING
Th bitter end roasts high, shade grown, single origin beans in small carefully controlled batches to insure that the brew you receive is always at its freshest and finest. We use only Fair Trade and organic beans as available.
THE BUILDING
The bitter end is situated in a 120 year old bank building on the original Western boundary of the city of Grand Rapids. The building has been restored to it's original early 20th century appearance: high tin ceilings, porcelain tile floors and dark oak woodwork. It is truly a time machine transporting guests to an earlier, simpler era.
THE EXPERIENCE
The shop is reminiscent of European coffeehouses of the 1920's: warm, dark and comfortable. An unhurried place to meet old friends or make new ones; reminisce about the past or plan the future; celebrate successes or complain of failures. We provide a warm and welcoming environment for everyone. Scott and Zelda, Sartre, and Gertrude and Alice would feel right at home here.

CUSTOMIZATION
With over 80 syrup flavors and several non-GMO dairy and non-dairy choices the number of drink customizations is nearly endless. Our syrups (both regular and sugar-free) are non-GMO and use only pure cane sugar.
ESPRESSO BEVERAGES
